LED SEARCHLIGHT LAMP FOR DIRECT REPLACEMENT OF INCANDESCENT LAMPS IN SEARCHLIGHTS OF RAILWAY TRACTION ROLLING STOCK

Description of the project and products or services provided

The LED searchlight lamp of the SDPZHL type is intended for direct replacement of lamps of the PZH and KGM type in searchlights of diesel locomotives, electric locomotives and electric trains. The main advantages of the lamp are: long service life (the average operating time for failure is 50 thousand hours, which is 89 times more than for lamps of the type PZH and 100 times more than for lamps of the type KGM); high energy efficiency (power consumption is 45+ -20%, which is 10 times less than for lamps of the type PJ and KGM); versatility (a lamp of the SDPZHL type has a wide range of supply voltages of 47.5-115.5 V and replaces lamps of the type PJ 50-500, PJ 75-600, KGM 75-600 and KGM 110-600, which reduces the range of lamps used on traction rolling stock); interchangeability (if a lamp of the SDPZHL type fails, it can be quickly replaced with a similar one, or with the corresponding lamp of the type PG or KGM). The cost of a lamp of the SDPZHL type is approximately 7 times more than that of lamps of the PJ and KGM type, but at the same time the payback period of a lamp of the SDPZHL type for the end user is about 6-12 months with an average lamp life of about 8 years.

Implementation stage

The project was launched in 2017. By 2020, R&D was completed and laboratory tests of products were carried out. In 2021, operational tests of an experimental batch of lamps on the traction rolling stock of the Kuibyshev Railway – a branch of JSC "Russian Railways" were completed, a conclusion was received and a feasibility study for the use of lamps of the SDPZHL type on traction rolling stock was approved. Since 2022, small-scale production and sales of lamps of the SDPZHL type have been carried out to companies that have their own locomotives. In order to sell to the main consumer (the use of lamps on the traction rolling stock of JSC "Russian Railways") and enter the market of neighboring countries, it is necessary to complete the procedure for introducing lamps of the SDPZHL type into the design documentation for locomotives, which requires additional funding.
